Twenty-Third Letter from Mohammad Mahdavifar to the Leader

In the Presence of the Exalted Leader of the Islamic Revolution

His Excellency Ayatollah Khamenei, May His Glory Endure

These days, like many people, I obtain the news and information I need through virtual space and have less opportunity to watch television. So much so that sometimes, I really miss seeing your image.

Tonight, on the eve of the ninth of Dey, I had the opportunity to sit in front of the television and watch for a few minutes the programs from several channels that were prepared about the ninth of Dey epic.

In the short time that I was glued to the magic box, I came to perceive that throughout history, Imam Hussein (AS) has appeared on the stage of the world twice, and humans have had the chance twice to be tested in the company of Imam Hussein (AS). Once in the famous incident of Karbala, which led to his martyrdom, and once again in our times, as if a unique historical opportunity has been created for us to fulfill our divine duty and not to abandon our current Imam who is Your Excellency.

Fate decreed that that Imam did not reach governance and was oppressed, but to what avail; because this Imam, too, despite having governed for a very long time, is still oppressed.

That Imam lived oppressed and was martyred oppressively, without the chance to take revenge on the oppressors, but you, in spite of your oppression, have fortunately found the opportunity to bring the tyrants and enemies of leadership to account for their deeds.

Among these oppressors is Mrs. Narges Mohammadi.

Her recompense for the injustice she committed against the oppressed Imam of Muslims is to spend 16 years of her youth in prison and to burn in longing to see her young children, so it may serve as a lesson for her and others.

Some imagine that the enemies of this Imam, like the enemies of that oppressed Imam (AS), must certainly be in the mold of Shimr and Yazid, but they are heedless that this time, the hand of oppression has emerged from the sleeves of writers, poets, students, professors, journalists, lawyers, workers, and also from the sleeves of teachers.

I request from Your Excellency to seize the opportunity and spare no effort in eradicating the oppressors.

Yours sincerely,

Mohammad Mahdavifar
