Saving the Country, Overcoming the Crisis
Mr. Ali Khamenei, the Honorable Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran,
After greetings and respects,
I had written to you about all these difficult and dangerous days in letters, and several times you responded to my letters with imprisonment and torture.
Three days before the start of the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people, that is, last Monday, the fourth of Dey [December 25, 2017], when there was no news anywhere, I wrote a letter to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards, warning that a massive uprising was on its way and that these uprisings would encompass all the cities of the country. With the expansion of these uprisings, the leadership of the revolution would issue a directive for direct shooting at the people.
Instead of thanking me, you became angry and sent a number of your agents to arrest me, storming into my house over the walls.
You frightened and shook my children and my lady wife, who is the sister of a martyr and had just been discharged from the hospital.
Hours before you stormed my house, by virtue of the same insight you claim we lack, I sensed the danger, left my home, and entrusted my wife and children to the merciful God, who is the best guardian and protector.
And now, Mr. Khamenei,
My next prediction is that your downfall in this stage is certain and imminent, followed inevitably by civil war and the disintegration of the country.
After consulting with some of the wise and concerned members of society, I present a quick and practical solution to save the country and put an end to these tragic events.
In this proposal, the first step is to bring together, within a few hours, the thirty members of the Transition Council whose names I had listed in my twenty-fifth letter to you, around a table.
Participate those members of the Transition Council who are outside the country in the meeting via video conference.
Ibrahim Yazdi from last year’s list has passed away, so we remove him and add Messrs. Sadegh Zibakalam, Ruhollah Zam, Seyed Mohammad Hosseini, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
These individuals, regardless of any belief or view they may hold, share the commonality of having valuable political and media grounds among various segments and ethnic groups of Iranians. Their words hold weight for factions of your opponents and most have experience and a background in political and cultural work.
These esteemed individuals include:
1) Shirin Ebadi 2) Mohammad Khatami 3) Reza Pahlavi
4) Mir-Hossein Mousavi 5) Mehdi Karroubi 6) Zahra Rahnavard
7) Nasrin Sotoudeh 8) Narges Mohammadi 9) Parastou Forouhar
10) Azam Taleghani 11) Faezeh Hashemi 12) Mohammad Nourizad
13) Mehdi Khazali 14) Abdolali Bazargan 15) Mostafa Tajzadeh
16) Mohammad Maleki 17) Ali Motahari 18) Ahmad Montazeri
19) Bayat Zanjani 20) Yousef Sane’i 21) Mohammad Ali Taheri
22) Molavi Abdul Hamid 23) Ali-Mohammad Dastgheib 24) Sadegh Zibakalam
25) Ataollah Mohajerani 26) Abolhassan Banisadr 27) Heshmatollah Tabarzadi
28 & 29) Two representatives from Kurdish parties 30) One representative from the People’s Mojahedin Organization
32) Ruhollah Zam 33) Seyed Mohammad Hosseini (Restart)
34) Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
(As soon as the Transition Council begins its work, upon the recommendation of some members and the agreement of others, we will invite those whose presence is deemed necessary and who have been omitted, to the council and expand the membership to fifty in the second session. The fifty-first member will be a plenipotentiary representative from you.)
Mr. Khamenei,
If you want us and our friends to trust you and mobilize all forces and efforts to save the country and bring peace, you must prove your goodwill and, from the moment this letter is published, without wasting time, release all political prisoners, those imprisoned for their beliefs, recent detainees, and the esteemed confined individuals.
In this case, we and our friends will calm the country with the help of the Transition Council.
To ensure the safety of you, your family, your guards, and both governmental and non-governmental clergy, we will obtain assurance from the members of the Transition Council.
It is clear that the Transition Council will not provide any guarantees for the continuation of the Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist or your leadership, but we will obtain written and verbal assurances from the council members that, should the Islamic Republic end, a general amnesty will be issued.
Funds of the public treasury, wherever they may be, must be identified and returned to the treasury.
The properties of embezzlers and looters of the public treasury will not be subject to forgiveness and overlooking.
The members of the Transition Council will first negotiate the type of government for the future of Iran and will determine the date of the referendum, the manner of its execution, and supervision over it, and then call their supporters off the streets.
Do not forget that we intend to be the saviors of the nation’s unity and coherence, not of the Islamic Republic and the Guardianship of the Jurist.
