To the Honorable Supreme Leader, his exalted eminence
After greetings and respects;
As you are aware, on the verge of the reopening of schools and universities, unfortunately, a number of teachers, who are activists for teachers’ rights, are imprisoned on security charges like organizing union gatherings due to their professional activities and fulfilling civil and social responsibilities, thus depriving their families of the presence of their father.
Two months ago, the peaceful gathering of teachers to pursue union demands in front of the Islamic Consultative Assembly was violently attacked by plainclothes agents and oppressive forces, and in this atmosphere of terror and fear, many teachers were arrested and sent to detention centers.
In protest against the insult of your officials to the high rank of teachers, on Monday, 13th of Mehr [October 5], “World Teachers’ Day”, I will order my children not to attend their classes.
If I were a teacher, university professor, or student myself, I would refrain from attending classes on this day to protest these disgraceful acts.
If I personally were the leader of Iran and my subordinates had committed such a disgraceful act, I would appear on television, publicly apologize to all teachers of Iran and the world for the insult to the position of teachers, kiss the feet of teachers, ask them to forgive me, and promise that I would never wrong any teacher or any servant of God again, and would prove my goodwill by freeing all innocent teachers and imprisoned freedom seekers.
Dear leader, I reiterate that on the 13th of Mehr “World Teachers’ Day,” under no circumstances should you expect my children to attend classes.
All my children, wherever they are in the country, will not go to school on this day.
