Eleventh Letter from Mohammad Mahdavifar to the Supreme Leader

Dear Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, after salutations and respect:

How is it that I must answer to the security forces for all my writings, yet you are not held accountable to anyone for your absolute and unrivaled leadership of 27 years?

Mr. Khamenei, when my children wake up in the morning, regardless of whether I am unemployed or engaged in work, whether I am a trader or a poet, they ask me for bread. There must be bread on my table. The eyes of all of them, for all their needs, are on their father. As the father of the nation, as the highest authority in the country, do you not have a responsibility towards the empty tables of the people?

Can you attribute empty tables to the President? Obviously, you cannot. Presidents come and go; the one who stays is you. The President is the position after you. Whatever problem you have, solve it with the President, but the answer for the empty tables of the people must come from you.

Everyone, in their position, is responsible, but no one’s responsibility compares to yours. I’d like you to once speak in your addresses about the real concerns of the people and emphasize them. By God, the main concern of the people is not global tyranny and fighting with America and erasing Israel from the face of the earth. It may be your primary concern, but it is not that of the majority of the people. The real concerns of the people are bread, water, welfare, education, healthcare, employment, and alleviating hardships.

The people’s concerns are paying installments and rent, utility bills, and phone expenses, and those kinds of things.

Farewell,

Mohammad Mahdavifar
